Animal doctors or veterinarian technicians are primarily responsible in protecting the health and welfare of people. Most veterinarian technicians diagnose and control animal disease, treat sick and injured animals, prevent the transmission of diseases between animals and people, and advise owners on proper care of pets, or animals in zoos or in farms. They ensure a safe food supply by maintaining the health of food animals and inspecting meat and poultry products.
Veterinarians also help to preserve endangered species, provide high procedures of care for laboratory animals, and carry out high-quality research to solve problems of animal disease while contributing to the resolution of human health problems.
There are many career opportunities are available in a wide variety of settings. Most veterinarians are engaged in private practice. Others may pursue veterinarian careers in government, education, and research.
